Flu

There will be a temporary hiatus in blogging while I struggle with flu instead of viewpoint. And I HAD a flu shot! This seems very unfair, as the universe so often is.

This year's flu shot is ineffective against the current strains. I got a dose of it in February. You're brain will be about as sharp as a dull butterknife for up to two weeks.

I didn't get the flu shot. Everytime I got the damned thing in the Army, I got sick. Since then, I've only catch the flu just this winter.

Doctors will argue with me, I'm sure. But then again, they do not know everything.

Get well.

My cure for the flu, Nancy--it =never= fails!:

One heaping bowl of highly-spiced chili

One shot of Jack Daniels' rare old sippin' whiskey

One pint of vanilla ice cream (any brand)

Has always worked for meself.
Feel better soon!

Doctors certainly don't know everything, S.F. The human body (and living beings in general) is vast and mysterious and there's a =lot= we've yet to discover. But when we go see a sawbones, don't we think, "I'm in good hands now. This skilled and caring physician is on the case. I =will= get better!" I think the =expectation= of cure is important.

Not after the Army, Blues. Anytime I see a doctor, I look around to make sure they don't have a jar of turpentine on the table labeled, "Curative."
